We Gave Birth to a Vision: Celebrating the Victory of The Maternal Equity Experience
Updated: Oct 6
A Vision in the Making
I can hardly believe it's October already. September was a blur for me and the team in more ways than one. But in the midst of everything that happened, we were able to execute The Maternal Equity Experience, and that was a HUGE milestone for us.
After nine months of planning, praying and fasting, we finally gave birth to a vision in the making.
Shameless plug… Visions in the Making just happens to be the name of my YouTube channel, where I share stories that bring God the glory. If you're in need of some encouragement, you can check it out at the link below:
I digress… LOL.
As I look back over the long nights, countless emails, creative brainstorming sessions, unexpected challenges and all of the destiny connections that came together at just the right time, I can't help but praise God for His leading and for making a way where there seemed to be no way.
With any event, there are always things you wish would have gone differently. Things you would change. Things you would do better the next time around. But I can honestly say that I have embraced every outcome as part of the beautiful beginning that it was. Every lesson learned is now a stepping stone for what we will build in the future.
Stepping Into the Assignment
This first event as the Founder and CEO of Aligned Purpose Agency stretched me and required more of me than any event I have produced in the past.
For years, I was accustomed to being behind the scenes. I worked alongside dedicated graphic designers, conference programmers, website designers, fundraising teams and other professionals who helped bring the vision together.
This time was different.
I was no longer just behind the scenes.
I was in front of the camera. I was managing the website. Creating graphics. Fundraising. Programming. Producing. Writing. Troubleshooting. Making decisions. Praying. And doing so much more.
And somewhere in the middle of all of it, I understood why God allowed me to REST before giving me this assignment.
I had developed the capacity to handle what needed to be done.
Looking back now, I'm amazed at how it all came together.
The Victory Deserves to Be Celebrated
One thing I've realized is that we often don't take the time to celebrate our victories before rushing into the next project. We finish one assignment and immediately start asking, "Okay God, what's next?"
But this time, I made a decision to stop.
To breathe.
To look at what God allowed us to accomplish.
And to celebrate the victory.
Celebrate the progress.
Celebrate the obedience.
Celebrate the fact that something that once existed only as a vision, a prayer and a collection of ideas became something REAL.
There are many people who have a vision, but there are not many who are willing to do what it takes to execute that vision.
Execution requires something from you.
BUT GOD!
And with every assignment, there is often a level of warfare. Sometimes that warfare comes right after the victory, attempting to make you forget what God just did. It tries to overshadow the progress, introduce fear, create a setback and leave you questioning everything you just accomplished.
BUT GOD!
The enemy attempted to send an attack the very next day after the conference.
But glory be to God, I am still alive today to say:
I'M STILL HERE!
And that alone is worth celebrating.
The weapon may form…
BUT IT WILL NOT PROSPER.
Carrying the Lessons Forward
So, as I close the chapter on September and prepare for what's next, I'm moving forward with gratitude. I'm taking the lessons with me, but I'm also taking the victories.
And I'm excited about what God is going to do next.
I invite you to stay connected with Aligned Purpose Agency and visit our Events page to learn more about what's coming.
There Is More Ahead
There is more ahead.
More vision to execute.
More people to serve.
More stories to tell.
And more opportunities to give God the glory.
Until next time…
Live on purpose.
